I found an interesting bit about Mohinder in the latest Behind the Eclipse. Interesting in a non-positive way.

"In BTE #12, you guys left us with a tantalizing bit of information. You mentioned that a scene was cut where Arthur takes Molly Walker's powers. Will we see Molly again, and if we do will she be powerless? More inportantly, I'm curious about how Arthur found Molly. He needed to find her to get her ability to find people, so obviously he didn't have a finding-people ability of his own. The only person who knew where she was is Mohinder. So did Mohinder sell her out to Arthur and will this be brought up again in future episodes? "

Yep. Mohinder did sell her out. The weakling. What an A-hole. But… since that storyline was cut from the show, it was cut from continuity. So no – you won’t be seeing any ramifications from that storyline.

Yup, possibly letting Molly be harmed so he could keep his powers, that's the Mohinder we all know and love! Oh wait...it isn't. It really isn't.
I guess we should all be happy this storyline was cut, but I think it speaks volumes about how the writers see Mohinder. Or don't see him.

*flails* WTFFFF! No way would Mohinder sell out his daughter, I wouldn't believe that in a million years. Thank God that wasn't made canon, even if it meant no onscreen Molly. What moron thought up that storyline? :\

Yeah, I remember reading that and it infuriated me. I'm so glad that it won't be become part of the canon, because seriously I don't think I would be able to forgive the writers for that.
To me that is an unacceptable level of character assassination. I'm pretty sure they would have lost me for good with that one.

Oh owch. I think that one stung a little.

Ick. I hate this so much. I frothed at the mouth a bit about this earlier in the week over at my non-LJ blog. Excerpted from my comment over there:

As far as deleted "Mohinder is a douchenozzle" scenes go, this tops the deleted Volume Two scene where he tasered poor cute Monica for no special reason. I take heart that it was, after all, a deleted scene, and that the writers specified that it is not part of official continuity, but jeez, what were they thinking for writing and filming such a scene in the first place?

Thing is, I really don't think the writers are setting out to deliberately sabotage Mohinder's character when they make him do despicable and/or idiotic things. I think they believe they're giving him layers. Which I guess they are, but they're just doing a spectacularly poor job of it.

Of course, it's also possible the entire writing staff hates Mohinder.

I don't have anything really to add to that, or anything to express that you all haven't expressed much better. Just... I'm usually a staunch defender of Heroes, even when it falls short of its potential, but this sort of thing makes me lose faith.

You know, for a show with such emphasis on "morally grey", they don't seem to know what that means. At all.

That is SHOCKING. I don't even know what to say. How did the writing staff suddenly start to see him as a douchbag? He was always portrayed bvery kindly in season one, and then as having to face hard choices in season 2, but I just don't see why now they are portraying him as a douchebag. UGH

~sigh~ I hate it when people lose all semblance of an understanding of the characters they've created.

When I read that I was very angry they would do something like that to Mohinder in the first place, but now reading it again I'm more sad and disappointed that these writers have little understanding of these characters at all. Mohinder is not a "weakling" nor is he an "asshole", and even during his crazytime in V3 I highly doubt he would sell out Molly, the little girl who is more like a daughter to him than anything. Even if they did cut it out it says a lot about how little they think of Mohinder being the moral compass of the show anymore, or even if we'll see Mohinder or Molly reunited ever again. *still prays for that moment anyhow*

In a way I kind of want to read that as somewhat facetious, but knowing what they've already done to certain characters I have doubts about that. :/
